HEALTH EQUITY
Faithful Action for a Healthy Wisconsin
Faithful Action for a Healthy Wisconsin is a joint initiative of Wisconsin Council of Churches, MICAH, and Wisconsin Faith Voices for Justice. We organize clergy and faith leaders of all faiths across Wisconsin to advocate for equitable public health policies.
In 2022, we have broadened our agenda to look at the intersection between healthcare disparities and racism. We are working to change the narrative about public health, away from a narrative of personal responsibility to one focused on the social determinants of health and the need to look systemically at the many factors that conspire to keep people from living healthy lives.
Please join us in this important work.

FAITH COMMUNITY OPPOSES DANGEROUS LEGISLATION AGAINST GENDER-AFFIRMING CARE
Wisconsin Faith Voices for Justice and the undersigned congregations, organizations, clergy, and people of faith, stand together to affirm the dignity and worth of the LGBTQ+ community and to oppose dangerous legislation that causes harm to members of the community. And make no mistake, legislation that seeks to bar youth from gender-affirming medical care, and that seeks to bar students from team sports, does grave harm. Learn more here.

The Ad Council and COVID Collaborative’s “It’s Up To You” campaign highlights stories from the descendants of the U.S. Public Health Service Syphilis Study at Tuskegee. Their stories set the record straight on what happened, what has changed and what current generations can learn from the experience to build confidence in public health within Black communities, especially as it relates to the COVID-19 vaccines.
